About Sloane

Sloane Carmichael-Worthington is a lifestyle entrepreneur, wellness advocate, and "curator of intentional experiences" whose family has summered on Nantucket since she was in utero (her mother did prenatal yoga on the beach; it was "formative"). She splits her time between Brooklyn, where she runs a small-batch candle company called "Essence of Elsewhere," and her family's Sconset compound, where she runs sunrise meditation sessions that her followers call "life-changing" and her neighbors call "very early."

With 47,000 Instagram followers—"a community, not an audience"—Sloane shares her journey of mindful living, which includes $28 green juices, $400 linen pants, and the occasional "digital detox" that she documents extensively on social media.

Her Island Philosophy

Sloane believes Nantucket has "special energy" that most visitors miss because they're "not tuned in." She frequently references the island's "healing properties," particularly the specific plot of beach behind her family's house, which she considers sacred and also wishes people would stop walking across.

She's passionate about "supporting local," which she interprets as shopping at stores owned by other summer people who opened boutiques. She's equally passionate about "sustainability," which she demonstrates by bringing her own tote bags to stores where she spends $800.

Sloane runs a summer workshop series called "Align with ACK" that costs $350 and includes beach yoga, a journaling session, and a "sound bath" that has drawn noise complaints from three adjacent properties.

From Her Columns

"The locals here have this beautiful, simple way of living. I find it so grounding to observe them."
"Everyone should experience Nantucket at least once. I recommend staying at least three weeks to really absorb the energy. Budget around $15,000."
"I don't believe in 'tourist traps'—I believe in 'energetic misalignments.' Some spaces just aren't meant for everyone."
