Island Spirits
Every drink tells a story
So there I was, twelve years ago, fresh off the ferry with a guitar case and a plan to spend one summer bartending at The Club Car. Just long enough to pay off my amp, then back to Brooklyn for my "big break." The big break never came. Something better did.
I'm Porter Tidewater, and I've spent the last decade learning everything about what makes this island drink. The old-timers taught me the classics. The wine folks at Greydon House schooled me on terroir. And Randy Hudson at Cisco showed me what happens when you make spirits with actual soul. Now I make cocktails with stories behind every pour. You're going to think I'm making some of these up. I'm not. Mostly.
Made with island spirits, served with island stories
Nantucket Vineyard's signature wine meets Triple Eight vodka. Born from a Club Car wine shortage and a customer who wouldn't take "we're out" for an answer.
Get the Story →A customer bet me I couldn't make Cisco's flagship pale ale "fancy." Never tell a bartender what he can't do. I won that bet.
Get the Story →Created on a day so foggy the ferry was delayed four hours. The stranded tourists needed something. I gave them this.
Get the Story →Randy Hudson handed me a sample bottle of Notch Single Malt and said "figure out what to do with this." Challenge accepted.
Get the Story →I watched the sun go down over Madaket and thought, "that should be a drink." So I made it one. The colors match. I checked.
Get the Story →Made for a pregnant regular who just wanted to feel included during happy hour. Now half my customers order it. Low-proof, high-reward.
Get the Story →Nantucket's three-in-one beverage empire
